Sound Expressions is a solo show by Scott McDuffee on view from April 8-30th, 2023 at Orient Express Cocktail Bar in the West Village.

Hailing all the way from Detroit, Scott is renowned in the streets of ‘the D’ having spent most of his artistic career there. All around Detroit, he has had solo and group shows in fine art galleries such as the Harper Gallery of Arts, Two James Spirits Gallery, Irwin House Gallery, Gallery at Brewery Park, Design 6 Studio, Kayrod Gallery, Congregation Gallery, Galerie Camille, and others. He is known for his high energy painting performances at music and citywide festivals and was the Artist in Residence at this year’s TEDxDetroit. Finally, and for the first time, the streets of New York will get to experience his work!

Sound Expressions will feature 11 vibrant and energetic acrylic works on canvas which all reinterpret the idea of what it means to “see” sound. Embracing synesthesia, we invite you to visualize each respective sound. Bam! Pop! Wiz! Boom! You’ll have the opportunity to “see” each of them through abstraction.

Starting as a factory worker and evolving to a director of corporate transformation, Scott brings the same climbing-the-ladder exuberance, experimental approach, and collaborative nature into his fine artist career.
